NEWS: OTUK signs letter calling for faster implementation of DMCCA digital markets competition regime

Online Travel UK has joined a number of businesses, trade bodies and consumer groups in calling on the Government and CMA for faster implementation of the DMCCA digital markets competition regime.

A letter with multiple signatories from businesses across various digital sectors was submitted today.

As more consumers discover and book travel products and services through digital platforms - and the use of AI-powered tools continues to grow - ensuring competitive and open digital markets has never been more important.

For online travel companies, fair access to digital platforms and the ability to innovate are key to ensuring consumers can easily compare, choose and book the travel options that work best for them.

The UK has an opportunity to create a pro-innovation digital economy that supports businesses, investment and consumer choice - but that only happens if the framework introduced through the DMCCA is implemented effectively and at pace.
